I’ve been photographing portraits for over 7 years, but my interest in photography started much sooner. I started getting serious in high school when I got my first point-and-shoot camera and my passion grew from there. I started out photographing landscapes, but I really fell into portraits when I decided to study photography in college. I felt I had so much more freedom to be creative and artistic with a model and fell in love with the human experiences and the genuine, authentic moments that I could capture. 

 

After graduating from Sac State with my bachelor’s degree in photography, I had little to no luck finding a job that was even remotely related to photography. During the pandemic, I ended up working for an insurance office (the last place I ever thought I would find myself). My boss asked me one day where I saw myself in 3 years - I honestly had no answer! I felt like I had lost sight of what I wanted to do with my life. That is, until my bridal shower in 2021; an old classmate got me an interview for a school photography studio that opened a branch here in Sacramento. Three years later, here we are! I absolutely love my job and I love that I get to make kids smile everyday. As a parent, I know how much these photos are worth and it makes my job so rewarding.
